Cleanbotics catchment beam skims: material selection for effective cleaning

Sklice are rubber or polyurethane blades that are attached to the catchment beam of the robot vacuum cleaner and are responsible for collecting moisture from the floor surface after wet mopping.
Choosing the right material for effective cleaning
The correct choice of skid material has a direct impact on cleaning quality, consumable life and ease of use.

Sklises - rubber blades for the catchment beam

  • Skliz of rubber
A softer material that adheres well to the floor surface, providing effective fluid collection without damaging the flooring. However, rubber slides are less durable and wear out faster, especially when working on abrasive or rough surfaces.
  • Polyurethane wedge
A stiffer and more wear-resistant material that lasts significantly longer than its rubber counterparts. Polyurethane is resistant to chemical attack, mechanical damage and retains elasticity at different temperatures. Such slides are better suited for intensive use and difficult cleaning conditions, although they are more expensive.

The choice between rubber and polyurethane slides depends on the operating conditions and cleaning requirements
Rubber slides are suitable for gentler and less intensive work
  • Softness and flexibility
The rubber slides are highly elastic and soft, allowing them to adhere tightly to the floor surface, effectively collecting water and cleaning solution. They gently clean delicate surfaces without scratching or damaging them
  • Nondurability
Despite good performance characteristics, rubber wears faster, especially with heavy use and rough or abrasive surfaces. Rubber slides are prone to cracking, warping and loss of elasticity over time, requiring more frequent replacement
  • Optimal application
Rubber slides are ideal for areas with delicate surfaces and relatively light equipment loads, such as offices, living quarters, and medical facilities.
Polyurethane provides reliability and durability in the most demanding environments
  • Rigidity and wear resistance
Polyurethane slides are stiffer and more durable, providing long service life and resistance to mechanical damage. They retain their shape and efficiency even under intensive use.
  • Resistance to chemical attack
Polyurethane is resistant to harsh detergents, oils and solvents, making it an ideal choice for professional cleaning in industrial and commercial environments.
  • Durability
Due to their high durability and abrasion resistance, polyurethane slides require less frequent replacement, reducing maintenance costs and improving the overall economics of robot operation.
