WayBot Battery Cycle Count: Battery Life and Operating Recommendations

WayBot robots are equipped with reliable LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) batteries  from leading manufacturers. This type of battery has a number of key advantages:

High cyclicity  - a significantly greater number of charge-discharge cycles compared to conventional Li-Ion batteries.
Safety  - resistance to overheating and fire, which is critical for industrial use.
Voltage stability  - even at a low charge level, the robot remains operational.
Long service life  - the battery degrades more slowly than analogues.

Declared and real cyclicality

Autonomy of Cleanbotics robots in terms of water consumption: operating time on one tank

The manufacturer specifies up to 4000 full charge cycles (DoD 100%)  - from full discharge (0%) to 100%. However, in practice, such deep discharges occur extremely rarely , because:
  • The robot automatically returns to charging when the remaining charge reaches 20-30% .
  • Full discharge (0%) is possible only in emergency situations (for example, in case of system failure).
The actual number of duty cycles  is usually higher, as most recharges occur at 30-80% remaining charge , which extends battery life.
  • Tank capacity: 20 liters
  • Operating time: up to 3 hours
  • Coverage area: up to 2,000 m²
  • Where it is used:
  • Offices, shops, residential complex lobby
  • Restaurants, hotels
  • Peculiarities:
  • Compact yet powerful  – suitable for regular wet cleaning
  • Quick refill (less than 5 minutes)

How to extend battery life?

To maximize battery life, we recommend:
🔹 Avoid deep discharge  – do not allow operation to 0%.
🔹 Do not leave the robot for a long time with a discharged battery  – this accelerates degradation.
🔹 Use only original chargers  – incompatible chargers can damage the battery.
🔹 Store at moderate temperatures  (15-25°C) – overheating and overcooling reduce service life.

When does the battery need to be replaced?

Even with careful use, the battery capacity decreases over time. Signs of wear :
  • Reduced battery life (the robot requires recharging more often).
  • Slow charging or fast discharging.
  • System notifications about the battery status (if connected to the network).
The average lifespan of a WayBot battery under normal conditions is 5-7 years .

Docking station included
For maximum autonomy

  • Draining dirty water
  • A bay of clean water
  • Fast charging
Advantage
  • Sensors: Lidars and Cameras
The forward lidar array and front camera are used to detect obstacles along the robot's path, such as small debris and steps.
  • Removable tablet instead of display
Instead of a regular display, we use a tablet that is wirelessly connected to the robot. The tablet can be detached to allow interaction with the robot in a comfortable position.
  • Three-wheel front roller
The innovative three-roller front suspension allows the robot to easily move over small irregularities such as slab joints, potholes and thresholds up to 15 mm high
  • Indicator strip
The indicator lights up in different colors to indicate the current status of the robot.
The automatic water filling function allows the robot to automatically fill the clean water tank before starting cleaning or during operation.
Emergency stop button - located in an accessible place and activated with one press
The LCD display is used to display information about the robot's status: operating mode, battery level, cleaning status and errors (if any).
The automatic water and cleaning agent replacement system allows the robot to automatically switch between clean water for washing floors and dirty water that is collected during cleaning.
Brushes are key elements for collecting dust, debris, and dirt. Robot cleaners are usually equipped with several types of brushes.

How do our robots work?
