Can Waybot robots move between warehouses across the street?
Waybot robot vacuum cleaners have been developed to meet the stringent requirements of the working environment. They are optimally suited for use inside enclosed areas with flat, hard and dry flooring. Moving between warehouses across an open street, especially in inclement weather or on uneven roads, can damage the unit's structure and electronics.
Waybot robots are designed for indoor use only
Moving across the street may cause premature failure of the unit, and damage due to weather conditions or poor road surfaces is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. If you need to clean two warehouses that do not have a covered passageway between them, it is recommended to use a separate robot for each room or provide a protected path of travel within the building.
Why robots are not designed for street use
Outdoor environments are significantly different from those for which Waybot robots were designed.
No moisture protection
The enclosure is not designed to protect against rain, snow or condensation.
Increased risks for the suspension
Potholes and uneven road surfaces can damage the undercarriage of the unit.
Temperature limits
The robots are designed to work in heated rooms and cannot withstand the temperature variations outside.
What are the risks associated with street operation
Damage to electronics due to precipitation
Moisture inside the case can damage the controls and sensors.
Deformation and wear of the suspension
Bumps, potholes and dust on the street accelerate the wear and tear of the robot's undercarriage.
Denial of warranty in case of breakdown
The manufacturer is not liable for malfunctions caused by operation outside the recommended conditions.
Ideal working conditions for Waybot robots
Closed premises
The ideal environment is a warehouse, manufacturing or office environment with no access to precipitation.
Hard, even surface
Polished concrete floors, poured surfaces, tiles and similar materials.
Stable temperature and humidity
The robots are designed to work in climate controlled environments.
